Areas of Intervention

The African Water Facility (AWF) is involved with a very broad range of activities to assist the Regional Member Countries (RMCs) in the full implementation of the African Water Vision (AWV). There are a number of new areas of activities which have been included to bring the AWF more in line with the AWV, and to reflect the experience thus far of the Facility based on the broad range of proposals and expressions of interest that have been received to date. To achieve this goal the AWF will focus its operational support for the attainment of the following main strategic objectives and corresponding outcomes at national and regional levels:

• Strengthen water governance
• Investments to meet water needs
• Strengthening the financial base
• Improve water knowledge
