September 2009 - TREND (Training, Research and Networking for Development), a local NGO, received a €2 million grant to strengthen sector capacity for planning and delivery of pro-poor WASH services in urban areas through tripartite partnerships approaches involving the public, private and NGO sectors and to increase access to water supply and sanitation in the three pilot areas of Ashaiman, Mankessim and Huni Valley via the construction of infrastructure. The project will identify opportunities for improvements based on assessment of the situation within the WASH sector, analysis of the problems and constraints to pro-poor services delivery.
