- Project Pipeline
AUSII’s project pipeline is being developed around inclusive urban sanitation approaches with focus on sanitation service delivery in a range of activities considering local conditions. The AUSII pipeline is principally based on requests from Regional Member Countries, however, the financing window is proactively working with sanitation stakeholders to identify high-impact urban sanitation projects.
The project pipeline includes but not limited to:
Preparation of bankable sanitation projects
Sanitation and investment master planning
Catalytic investments for high impact, scalable innovative technology and business models
Policy studies
Climate change adaptation and mitigation
Result-based financing
Technical assistance to attract commercial and concessional finances and guarantees
Grant Eligibility
The AUSII window deploys grants and technical assistance (non-reimbursable) during the first two years of operations, working with the eligibility criteria of the African Water Facility. Its Investment functions (reimbursable) aims to be operational from 2026 with set eligibility criteria, apart from the grant and technical assistance functions.
