April 2007 - The Government of Niger received a €660,800 grant to formulate, endorse and implement the transition strategies for the adoption of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) through a national Action Plan 2025. The project will help define priority actions and investments for the short, mid and long term, in view of increasing access to sustainable and safe water supply and sanitation, and boosting the country’s socio-economic development by increasing water security for agricultural, domestic and industrial use through a process supported by the active participation of the local population and various partners.
