The African Water Facility has approved a grant of €362,000 to finance the "Preparation of a Strategic Action Plan for Water Resources Development in the Komadugu-Yobe Basin Project Phase II – Additional Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Studies” in Nigeria.
The African Water Facility and the African Development Fund have approved a grant of €7,640,590 for a four-year project to support climate resilient drinking water and sanitation services, in four rural regions of Niger.

Mogadishu, Somalia, The AWF announced on Wednesday, November 19 that it has offered a €3-million grant to the Republic of Somalia to support a project designed to build resilience to climate change and reduce water stress in Somaliland. The project is expected to improve the management of water resources and attract investments to build water infrastructure and improve water services. Around 3.5 million rural and urban people stand to benefit from the project, as well as 2 million nomadic pastoralists.
Stockholm, Sweden - The African Water Facility (AWF) announced today at the Stockholm World Water Week 2014 its new partnership with the Nordic Development Fund (NDF) as it joins the AWF donor community through a € 6 million funding. The NDF will also be providing technical support to assist with the management of water projects designed to build resilience to climate change across the African continent.
Tunis, Tunisia - The African Water Facility (AWF), an initiative of the African Ministers' Council on water, has attracted €1.2 billion of follow-on investments for water management projects pledged by donors. “This is a major achievement for AWF's 10th anniversary,” said Akissa Bahri, the Coordinator of the AWF. The announcement was made during the 14th Governing Council Meeting, held from November 28-29, 2014 in Tunis, Tunisia.
